Frequently Asked Questions

Not Yet. Our Beta included a system that recognized new transactions from your Rewards Card, confirmed the category, reduced the amount, then put the money in a separate category which could be used to pay off the card at the end of the month. It was great except it making the payments was hard.

Eventually we’ll release it again better than ever!

ProActive runs on the debit networks of Visa or Mastercard. You can spend your money anywhere those are accepted in the world.
Yep, it’s a problem. We suggest going out the door with a backup pay card.
Dwolla is our transfer partner. They help us move money from your bank to ProActive.
We’re sure you’re not a pirate or terrorist, but our banking partners have to prove it. 🙂 The government requires all financial accounts to “know your customer” per the Patriot Act, so our partners use your SSN to match your data to your credit history. If it all matches then they know you’re you. This makes it easy so you don’t have to provide other documentation like a picture ID or a Passport.
First, feel safe. ProActive is the safest card on the planet. No one can use your money without the app.
Second, Call 877-287-2448 to report it and get a new card. Card Replacement fees may exist.

You’ll need to contact our card partner. For a “Paygressive” card please call 877-287-2448 to reset your PIN at any time.
Subscriptions are paid annually from the bank account that you connect in ProActive.
Transferring on to your card is always 2 business days, but we have a 5 pm Eastern time cut off. If you put in your Deposit Request before then it will be there 2 business days later. If it’s after then it will feel like 3 days.

Pro-tip: Have your employer do a separate direct deposit straight to your ProActive account. Contact us on the support chat to get your numbers.

Absolutely! Just choose a category on the app, then insert your card. The cash will come directly from that category.
Note: ATMs charge us fees which we have to pass along to you.

Easy! Just choose a category to put money on the card and then go shopping or pay that bill.
We’re working on this one. Currently, we can transfer it in but not out unless you cancel your account.
BUT, it’s really easy to spend the money off and most users find that Cash at the teller or using an ATM ($2.50 Fee) will get the job done.
We do hope to have this feature out this Fall
Yes, our partners will create a new account for you which is connected to our spending cards. The accounts are FDIC insured and very safe.

If your card is a Mastercard then for Costco you’ll need to use it as Debit and enter your PIN.
